SHIKTRA MATERNAL NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTHCARE (SMANCH) FOUNDATION

Established in 2021 in Marama, Hawul Local Government Area, Southern Borno State, the Foundation

delivers free maternal and child healthcare to underserved rural areas in Northern Nigeria. the foundation

Utilizing telehealth services and mobile clinics, it ensures healthcare access in remote communities.

Collaborating with local healthcare centers, SMaNCH provides education in local languages, administers

vaccines, debunks harmful health myths, and delivers prenatal and postnatal care. Key innovations

include training traditional birth attendants and health workers, equipping them to improve maternal and

child health outcomes. By addressing healthcare gaps, SMaNCH has reduced maternal and infant

mortality, increased immunization rates, and built trust within communities through its impactful and

culturally sensitive approach.
