Description of the Innovation
Location: Ogun State, Nigeria.
Using game for health education on schistosomiasis (a neglected tropical disease), Schisto and Ladders teaches children between five to 14 years of age about the disease’s modes of transmission as well as the control and treatment options for persons infected with schistosomiasis. The innovation is currently being implemented in Ogun State through the combined efforts of the state’s Ministry of Health, NGOs and teachers.
